PARTAY

You may have heard that on Friday July 22nd Scattermusic is launching it’s band new website including an online store and music forum. To celebrate we’re putting together one massive party to showcase a whole range of acts from the label including Lucid, Scattermusic Soundsystem, Bosstone, Congo Tardis #1, The Cumbia Cosmonauts, 1 Fish Two Fish and more. Expect a night of big drums, hype drops, grinding rhythms, questionable stage antics, impractical props, and bazaar costumes. Not only are we launching the brand new site but it’s also a chance to celebrate our most recent release, Jova from Bosstone who’ll also be playing on the night. We hope to catch you there with an airhorn in hand and a whistle in your mouth.

SCM-011 Bin Juice Digital

We’re super proud to announce that earlier this week Scattermusic’s latest offering, the digital edition of Bin Juice was unleashed through download stores worldwide. It marks our label’s journey into double figured catalog numbers with a diverse selection of tracks from our growing family of artists. The aim was to provide a summary of the sounds we’ve pushed through our first 10 releases with flavours of cumbia, dancehall, techno, house, kuduro, funky, grime and 3ball. Don’t be thinking that this is simply a mish mash of tracks from our back catalog, every joint on here is previously unreleased because as much as it’s a reflection on the last 18 months, it’s also a taste of several exciting things we’ve got planned for the rest of 2011. Get the whole pack for as little as $6.99 (or more if your in the spirit of giving) from our bandcamp page.

While this release officially makes the end of our free download approach, we just can’t help but give a little something away. Hit the download link below for a copy of Mat Cant’s Raw Riddim. It’s a dancefloor driven combination of UK funky drums with a rotten grimy bassline (there’s even a few little bmore chops thrown in for good measure).

Bin Juice Digital – May 10th

The special edition digital version of our tour cd, “Bin Juice” is almost upon us. While the CD version is a compilation of past hits and bestsellers and new exclusives, the digital version features all some of those bits of new heat that need digital release and some of it’s own exclusives!

The genres move over a bunch of styles that we love and support through the Scatterblog from a bunch of label family members.

3 Weeks in 3 Minutes: Scattermusic Sound System Tour Vidi-yo!

Highlights from the Scattermusic Sound System tour of the Australian East Coast back in November 2010. Which meant 12 gigs in 3 weeks, bouncing from Melbourne to Brisbane and back in a space-age Tarago, foam parties, passing through schoolies week in the Gold Coast, realising that our Wagga Wagga gig was at the same time as a world bantam weight boxing match being screened at the same venue, burnouts in Ballarat (as savoured by French Fries who had come along for that gig), Mat Cant twittering away and getting shout outs from Rinse.fm as we travelled, a projector mount that clamped onto anything ( including hotel cabin doorframes for late night movies ), and of course, a never ending supply of great tunes (most overheard sentence in the van? “This track is sick.”)…

Party over here.

In case you didn’t know our Scattermusic Soundsystem just recently got back from three weeks on the road and well, lets just say it was pretty freakin’ epic. I actually intended on writing this post much sooner but as it turned out we all needed a few days off from music since finishing the tour (don’t worry we’re back now).  Thanks to everyone who came out to party and all the local groups that supported and helped make each night so rowdy, you know who you are. My camera was lost somewhere on the tour trail so I can’t offer much photographic evidence but I’ll endeavor to have Jean Poole (VJ) upload some footage he took from the ten shows. Stay tuned.

In preparation for the tour we created this little Scattermusic anthem with Serocee who was in town touring with South Rakkas. Get it while it’s hot (or becomes over-exposed on soundcloud).

Also, we’ve just launched our very own online merch store where you can buy shirts, badges, posters and our limited Bin Juice compilation featuring heaps of unreleased madness plus a few classics. Expect a lot more to be added over the next few months including Tropicola designs that should be up by the week’s end. Follow the link below.

Scattermusic Radio #7 – Scattermusic Soundsystem by Scattermusic

Scattermusic Soundsystem East Coast Tour

So i’ve been pretty quiet on the the blog front for awhile but i’ve got a good excuse, i swear! Over the past couple of months i’ve been working hard organising our first Scattermusic soundsystem east coast tour of Australia and after waiting for so long i can finally i can announce all the dates. Pretty much the four of us are getting together (Mat Cant, Mu-Gen, Lewis Cancut & Scattermish) along with our VJ Jean Poole and photographer The Cheap Assassin and hiring a Van and driving up the east coast of Australia to do this tour, really cheap and really rugged. We will be staying some nights in hotels, some in caravan parks, whatever our budget will let us do. The great guys at Agwa have given us some bottles to take along to help us get drunk and Red Bull has even thrown in a couple of slabs so it looks like Agwa bombs for breakfast all round. If your anywhere near the spots we are hitting up make sure you come down and party with us and say hi, maybe bring us some food too ;) . We have always had in mind of having some special tour only merchandise for this tour and fingers cross it all comes together in time, ill keep you all updated on that.

If you want to keep a close eye on the tour we have started up a tumblr page that we will try and put up photos/videos/stories/general news on whats happening along the way, check it out at http://scattermusicsoundsystemtour2010.tumblr.com/

Thanks to everyone that helped me out with organising this tour, really appreciate it… Wish us Luck!

Scattermusic Soundsystem Tix 4 Free

So we have been planning a Scatter Soundsystem tour of the East Coast for some time now. Its almost here and it will be bigger and better than the performance we put on at Golden Planes Festival earlier this year.  As the tour gets closer we have some warm up rehearsal shows in Melbourne planned with the first being this week. The guys from “Sum Of Us” have asked us to come and headline their first official party at Brown Alley this week. This crew is a joint effort from some of Melbournes biggest and best promoters who are aiming to put on rad parties filled only with local talent. Its looking like a show not to be missed so come get dutty with Melbournes best dance acts.

We are going to be giving away some double passes over the next few days here in lead up to the gig so stay tuned. Ill start it off now by giving one double pass to the first person that can tell me the length of the tune below, which by the way is a d-floor bomb for those into the Scattermusic sound. The new Sandro Silva ep is large and this tune certainly exemplifies the kind of sounds we have been and will continue to push here.

Sandro Silva – Urbanize (Original)

……..

Double Pass Giveaway.

This weekend The Espy and Scattermusic will be throwing down a super dope party. More specifically, on Saturday 14th we have Sharkslayer (FIN), Mighty Fools (NTL), Beataucue (FRA), Neoteric (CAN) and of course our very own Scattermusic Soundsystem will be tearing up the Gershwin room for a night of futuristic, bass fueled madness. These are acts  that we’ve wanted at our parties for a very long time now so we’re pretty freakin’ pleased to finally bill them (ie we’re all getting ready to go bat shit crazy on the night an slightly embarrass ourselves). I’m still not even sure quite how all this will fit into one night but we’ll find a way.

Tickets will set you back 28+BF (Thats like 7 clams per international act!!!!!!) and are available online through OzTix and Epsy Online. Doors at 9pm.

In the spirt of coming together for the tour, Neoteric, Beataucue and Sharkslayer have put together this collection of brand new tracks. The fact that you’ve already read about 175 words of our site means I wont need to persuade you on this mix, it’s just a straight no brainer.

Scattermusic Soundsystem vs Golden Planes

supernaturalamphitheatre

Well we just produced our own festival last week with the full help and support of the Espy. Now its time to rock someone elses. So chuffed about this one. Scatterblog Soundsytem has just been asked to headline the dj’s on the sat night at pretty much our favourite music festival in the country. For those of you not familiar Golden Planes is the little bro to Meredith Music Fest. Both share the same venue and orginisational team, and both are always at the forefront of music culture. I did the same set in ’07 for MMF and had pretty much the time of my life cant wait to share the stage this time with my boys. Im not sure what the deal is with tix for this one but it sells out every year to the point where u need to get on a ballot the year before. Check this years line-up here.

We will be rocking a crazy show with all 5 of the Scatterblog acts (Slap & Dash, Scattermish, Mu-Gen, Mat Cant & Lewis Cancut) playing together for 3 hrs. We have many a surprise up our sleeves including props, dancers, sets and all sorts of bat shit crazy stuff………….. Can u say EPIC!!!!!

I was going through some pics on my computer today and found the stage plot we sent through to the festival. Its piss funny, it looks like my 8yo niece drew it or som’n, spelling mistakes and all, but you can blame me for that one. As you can see we will be pumping some heavy duty sonic sound with all that gear on the night.

scatterblog stage plot

Just thought I would share the pic along with a cheeky edit of the new Hollertronix Party Squad “Pull Up” (buy here) I did a few months back. Not much done to the original except some more hype added and a few cut ups in the second drop. Plus I also attached the Shaun D “Mad Drums” joint on the tail of it for shows, you know, so i can bump straight into another blend.. It was made in like an hour so no hating on the lameness aight!
