Saca La Mois DJ!! Club Mix for Europe Tour Winter 2011
Heaps busy in Melbourne studios over winter finishing the Cumbia Cosmonauts debut album Tropical Bass Station with fellow Cosmonaut Soup (aka Sopa Loca), it is now time to escape the coming Melbourne heat by heading over to wintry Europe for a short tour this November and December.
I finally got my act together to post mixes on soundcloud – here is a Club Mix I’ve been meaning to do for some months now. It gives you a taste of the direction of Tropical Bass Station, and there are a couple of tracks from the coming album featured in the mix. Hungover….again.
Buraka Som Sistema’s Hangover was so incredibly dope and it didn’t quite get the internet hype it deserved if you ask me. It proved once again their unique ability to create catchy-as-hell-hooks for white people using non-English languages, quite an accomplishment. Scattermusic’s own Sabbo just uploaded his take on the track which is somehow even more Kuduro than the original.
SaBBo – The Deepaton EP
People who read this blog need no introduction to SaBBo, Scattermusic released his Modern Primatives EP a little while back, and now SaBBo has returned on the Generation Bass label with a new Moombahton release – The Deepaton EP.
Generation Bass describe the release as four tracks of deep, soulful and sexy Moombahton; and that pretty much sums it up. It’s moombahton, but it’s hypnotic and fun at the same time. Check out the Rubbin’ they titts track from the EP below.
Bosstone Can’t Be Stopped.
After a debut EP earlier this year on Scattermusic, followed by several remixes and collaborations, Bosstone’s now ready to drop his second official release. It’s titled ‘Call me Up’ and is due for release on Soukouch Ethnik at the end of the month with remixes from Prince Jean, Berou and Magnum. In anticipation they’re giving away this one track as a teaser, an awesome collision of steel drums and club beats.

If that wasn’t enough to make you keen for this release then take a listen to this snippet from the EP via soundcloud. Ooooh myyyyy gyyaaaaadd.
New EP From Sabbo
Sabbo’s New EP drops on Generation Bass today and because he’s all about the peoples, he’s giving away one track from it for a very limited time! The release marks another significant step for Moombahton as it continues to diversify into dozens of sub-genres, moving well beyond it’s original ‘tropical bass’ stereotype. Do your self a favor and splash out a few clams for the release, it’s essential for anyone into global bass sounds.

Soundtrack to 50 Years Of Humans In Space
Moses Iten a.k.a. Saca La Mois DJ!! was recently commissioned by cult ABC Radio National programme The Night Air to produce a 50 minute mixtape in celebration of Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin becoming the first human being to travel into outer space, 50 years ago.

As co-producer and founder of the Cumbia Cosmonauts, Moses Iten was able to source music from an expansive collection of Soviet-bloq science fiction soundtracks and hundreds of LPs containing music produced for an unknown future, somewhere during the past five decades.
Narrated by archival recordings from the various missions to outer space from ABC Radio’s archives going back to the 1960s, Moses Iten also discovered some new sounds to include fragments of Neil Armstrong’s cassette he took on his mission to the moon and cuts of the LP made of gold that was built to last at least two billion years and is about to leave our solar system on board of the Voyager spacecraft.
For complete playlist with details on artist, song, album and label go to ABC Radio National’s The Night Air homepage.
Drake – Club Paradise (Bosstone Bootleg)
A couple of weeks ago Drake dropped 3 new tracks really quickly, including the track “Club Paradise” that our homeboy Bosstone has just remixed. Bosstone is quick to jump on these new RnB joints and flip them in his own way ready for the club, watch this one take on a world of its own. Grab the download below and check out his new original “Jets” out next month on his “New Fish In The Water” EP out on Paradisiaca.

Saca La Mois DJ!! presents…Afrolectro & Congotronics
Konono #1 burst out of Africa with their album Congotronics in 2005, and they are bringing their sound already famous in Europe to the Melbourne International Arts Festival. Music once played on elephant tusk-horns is now electrified and amplified with salvaged car parts, inspiring and influencing artists all over the world. Moses Iten a.k.a. Saca La Mois DJ!! (of the Cumbia Cosmonauts) presents an hour of electric music inspired by this type of innovation and folklore from the African continent.
Originally broadcast on 25 August 2011 on Melbourne’s 3RRR 92.3 FM, download here:

Chicago homeboys Rampage & Nader have been busy lately, especially on the Moombahton tip, releasing plenty of tracks for free on their soundcloud page. The boys latest edit is of the classic Biggie joint “Juicy“, it was only a matter of time before someone flipped this track into a Moombahton banger, really feeling this one. Nader has also released a new original track titled “Bass” on his soundcloud page along with the stems, so if your looking for something to remix get on this now.
