Here it is, what you have all been waiting for, SCATTERCAM!
This is the first installment of what will be a regular thing at all our Scatterblog parties from now on. We will pretty much be filming our parties and putting together a 3-4 minute video for you all to look back on or witness what you missed out on! If you see us putting a camera in your face, there is a good chance you will be in one of these videos. We will be filming this Saturday once again at our party with Foamoso make sure you keep an eye out…
This video is not from a Scatterblog party but from a show we all did withSantiago & Bushidoearly this month. Only Santiago came out on the tour but he still rocked it just as we expected, and was a really nice dude as well. The night was rad, everyone seemed to get right into it and even though it wasn’t our party we still noticed a lot of the Scatterblog party regulars were there, which is a nice thing!
So here it is, hope you enjoy it and look out for more scatterCam very soon!
Also here is one of the more popular Santiago & Bushido tracks of the night to download, enjoy!

About a month ago i had the pleasure of going into the studio withNick Thayer, producer extraordinaire and all round nice guy! We had talked about getting together for awhile to make a track and i was glad it finally happened, i picked up so much in the time i was with him and after a couple of days we had something completed. It is essentially a club version ofFatman Scoop’sFaith Evan’s samplingChicsampling ‘Be Faithful‘, and i wont lie we were listening to alot of nadastrom before hand!
We have got a lot of love with this tune from local and international DJs and it has been doing damage to dance floors wherever i play it. Here is it tagged and serato ready, hope you enjoy it!
Also you can hear it on Nick’s latest Mixtape “Thizz Disco Vol 3“, the tracklist is amazing and i’ll post it in the comments section for anyone that’s interested.
I just realised that my last post got taken down so i thought i better throw it back up again but ill hide the mixtape tracklist in the comments section…
I had some spare time so i thought i would quickly post up a couple of things i have done over the last 2 weeks. The first one is a mix tape i did up before our show withDJ Segain June (which btw wasHUGE,thanks toeveryonethatcameoutfor it!), its all club music and I’m really proud of it.
Ive sent it out to quite a few people over the last week but i havnt included the track list, so for those who want it you can find it in the comments section
Also here is a quick little edit i did ofRye Ryetrack“Bang”, make it funky y’all!
So this week i got a bit bored and decided to record some of the tracks that i have been playing for the last month, get something recorded that i can share with you all. Since i don’t have a job during the week i decided to call it “While You Are Working… Volume One”, this is what I’m usually doing while most people are pushing the 9 to 5.
Well what a weekend, i was busy as hell and traveled way too much than i wanted to but it wasn’t all work and no play. On Sunday i hit up theGood Vibrations Festivalin Melbourne and had a rad time, bigPazwas rocking the Jager tent playing his much loved Soca music, chest hair and all, just for the ladies. While i was there i ran intoSteve Lind from the one and onlyHump Day Project, one of my favorite groups out there, they always bring the heat! Steve was a super nice dude so i thought i would post up his edit of Dynamite MC, Jack Beats – What! (Boy 8 Bit Mix) that i have been playing out everywhere lately…
Also check out theTroublemaker project that steve is apart of as well, there is heaps of tunes on there to download and loads of information about what troublemakers is all about,CHECK IT!
While I’m talking about sydney cats i thought i better post up some work from my boyLunyP.This dude is always making new remixes, always sending me files and there always great fun! Paz and I have been playing this dudes stuff out for awhile now, head over to hismyspaceto get some more tracks…
Also big shout out to my boysBensonandNorthie fromBrain Matterswho is running shit on the central coast at the moment, there making there way down to Melbourne very soon to play atEurotrashandSnake Eyes@ Alia. This track has been working it for me since the boys sent it over awhile back and since i cant wait for this weekend there’s no better song to end this post on.
That’s about how hot it is (Celsius for all those stuck in Fahrenheit) just about anywhere in melbs atm. Man if you’re in the sun it’s die time. We’re assured that first floor has actually got some good cooling systems on so that’s something to look forward too, will be fun to get outta hot houses. On top of that this show has all your favorite Scatterblog DJs pumpin out all the sounds we’ve grown to love. There’s a facebook event if ya want some more details. Slap & Dash bringit!
On the download side of things i thought i’d put up a couple more joints that i’ve had something to do with – anyone getting bored of me posting my own tunes yet? or bring it?
The first jawn i’ve been dropping in my sets lately, and it’s been goin down pretty well on the hype music side of things. I’ve been going thru all, and i mean ALL of my mp3s lately (taking aaaages) and deleting all the things i don’t play out (i’ll have an obscurity of it all post coming up soon too, remember those?) – anyway going thru all them tunes means i’m finding some bangers which i’ve forgotten about, or managed to just look over in the past. In comes the Rico Tubbs album. Originally i was all about Gangsters and Ghetto Funk Baby, but now i’m totally all about Work This, Slap The Bass and It Get’s No Better – the latter which i’ve made a “scattermish hype edit” of. I’ve just made it drop better, added some more vocals and cut it up somewhat – basically just tried to get some more energy in it. To re-live the glory of this album, grab it at beatport, and look out for Knuckle Sandwich Remixed which should be dope, and will see a release in march!
Then we got the original Digital Manges – Give Me A Reason tune which has been doing some rounds on promo. Play it loud and look for the next EP coming out real soon. Grab the whole EP/single and remixes at beatport. Also we’re doing a really short live show at the Scatterblog MP3 release party/Edu K show at the espy – but more on that closer to the date
Anyone who knows me knows that i love nothing better than a big Baltimore Club track but lately ive been listening to a lot of different music and im finding that my BPMs are creeping up higher and higher, i totally agree with Paz that 140 is the new 130!
Anyway one artist that is KILLING IT for me right now is Chase & Status from London, their take on drum & bass/electronica/dubstep is taking me back to when i was all about the amen break. I recently picked up the Dubstep remix of the track “Against All Odds” feat Kanoand i cant wait to throw this down, its one my favourite Dubstep tracks at the moment.

This is my first of many posts to come on the blog but some of you might remember my name from the Mixburn Mixi did back in September 08. Ive recently started working with the scatterblog helping out with parties and now ive joined the blog team to throw some heat in ya faces. Ill keep it short and sweet today and post up a couple of my own re-edits that ive kept tight, they are have been a staple in alot of my sets over the years but i thought what better time to finally share them than now.
Well it looks like Melbourne is becoming the second home to Baltimore club music. Recently we have had pretty much every big name including Scottie B, Dave Nada, Bird Peterson and Sammy Banana’s hit our shores skooling the youngins with a loose your shit, party fulled club sound. Although Baltimore club has been around since the early 90’s, it’s todays b’more performers that are flipping it into a sound that everyone seems to be hyping on. It aint just about rocking the Lyn Collins breaks anymore, it’s bigger than that!
One of the guys pushing it beyond it’s birth is Tittsworth. The guy is rad and word has it from our friends accross the pond (NZ) that this tour is no let down. He is playing in Melbourne this friday the 23rd at Roxanne Parlour (Coverlid Place CBD). Expect some crazy shit from him and all the locals supporting including Tranterco(Gameboy Gamegirl), Opulent DJ’s, Emillionzzzand of course yours truly Mu-Gen. As mentioned on the flyer, tittsworth has his own label T&A Records with DJ Ayers. His album, “12 Steps” is (and the drunk as fuck single is set to be) out thru Plant Music (Stretch Armstrongand Dominique Keegan’s label). Grab it thru beatport.
To celebrate I thought I would post some new and old Titts bits to get ya’ll in the mood. So come down and party with the big boys.
No real specific point to this post except the tunes in it are all staples in my set. Some have been in rotation for eva and a bit, others are new to the party jam bag. The first is a Tre Black tune which is pretty much one of the most versatile hip hop songs I use. Been rocking this one for a long time and cant believe I’m giving it up now (Lewis you can stop bugging me for it). It’s old school booty and party as hell. Sampling the bass from Gary Newman’s Cars and hyping lyrics like “put ya back into it” it has everything I love about the old school.
Fanny pack are another group that sound like they are from days gone by with a sound that is imitated by many in the present. Think this tune is from 2005 though. They are like the female equivalent of 2Live Crew. Most tracks are on the comical side like the classic “Camel toe”, but this one is 142 bpm party heat. Works as a vocal hook so well over Kuduro and Bassline.
Cant post party jams without putting one up from pretty much my favourite party producer at the moment, stand up “Toddla T”. The dude is not running out of ideas any time soon and delivers bottom end madness yet again on the Filthy Dukes Remix. It’s carnival, booty and everything in between.
Last is the 2bit Thugs 2 live Crew re-rub. I mentioned this track in the Rico Tubbs post a while back that got taken down. Its big, catchy and makes people totally loose their shit. Don’t need to say anymore except its a must.
