Konono #1 burst out of Africa with their album Congotronics in 2005, and they are bringing their sound already famous in Europe to the Melbourne International Arts Festival. Music once played on elephant tusk-horns is now electrified and amplified with salvaged car parts, inspiring and influencing artists all over the world. Moses Iten a.k.a. Saca La Mois DJ!! (of the Cumbia Cosmonauts) presents an hour of electric music inspired by this type of innovation and folklore from the African continent.
