As if May wasn’t a big enough month for the genre, June has hit off with a bang with some straight fire moombahton getting releases. On the radar this month, an act I know little about called Dj Moms & Amazinggaijin, and a dude I’ve been following for a minute – Sabo.
Dj Moms and Amazinggaijin are from France, and have released an EP on Top Billin titled Sabro.
Sabro is a moombahcore banger, you might not hear it coming, but it gets pretty intense, and also calms into some nice moombahton sections and builds back into the moombahcore.
Second up, Sabo’s label Sol Selectas have released the latest in the moombahton massive series, Moombahton Massive IV.
This I would have to say is my favourite Moombahton Massive to date. Sabo (like most moombahton producers) now resides in LA, and he’s been busy playing shows, including SXSW moombahton party with Dave Nada, as well as working on new edits and remixes. The moombahton massive stuff is usually very percussive and more cumbia influenced, but this one seems to have hit the balance between club sounds and moombahton and latin influences spot on. The Sabo tracks are the highlights, Bounce with it’s breakdown including a very hype vocal sample and Spock’s Deeelite, an epic moombahton mash with an infectious horn lead!
Again with the Moombahton Massives, this one is available for free download, so go to the Sol Selectas soundcloud and get yourself a copy of this while you can.
And last but not least, A little more moombahcore for this who like it harder. I got sent this track by Market Price from LA (again with the moombahton production from LA right now) – looking forward to more from these guys!
