From Mexico With Love

Shout out to previous Scatterblog contributer Paz for putting me onto this stuff, a fellow fiend for all kinds of regional music it would have been understandable for him to keep this one to himself. Mexico has style of hard tribal rave music referred to as Guarachon, kinda like a sped up cumbia I guess. This stuff has been getting a little blog love lately but is surprisingly still pretty hard to track down. I’m yet to even come across a myspace for most of these artists which I’ll admit makes it all the more appealing in an era where the internet makes everything so accessible.
If your like me then you might not listen to many dj mixes, jaded by trillions of playlists containing nothing more than this months biggest clubs hits, sewn together seamlessly in Ableton. Believe me though when I say this mix by Dj mouse is the shit! It’s possibly the best representation of the Guarachon sound, just listen to balance between banging drums, hype rave riffs and all out cheesy hooks.
Dj Mouse – Especial Session. (ysi)
And because I know you’ll be disappointed If I don’t give up a track for you to file away in your Serato have this banger by Dj Makency & Dj Nectar. Like Mouse, these guys are titans of this sound.
Makency & Dj Nectar – Canto Yemaya. (ysi)
Just one more thing, when looking online for info about Dj Mouse I came across perhaps the worst Dj profile shot in the history of recorded music. Some guy from Portugal with the same name. Does that blue armchair in the background make you wanna party or what.

That photo is pretty terrible. That guy should just give up. Did you happen to find any info on Dj Mouse? He’s pretty elusive.
