From Angola with love.

If some douche-bag was to make awkward conversation with me at a dinner party by asking what kind of music I’m into, I’d probably mumble something meaningless and stare at the ground. To answer truthfully though, am I allowed to say “regional music”? Like Philly Club comes from Philly, Baile Funk is from Rio, Bubbling from Holland and Kuduro takes root in Angola. They’d probably think I was a total jerk and walk off but that stuff really interests me. I’d say it’s because there is such an overwhelming amount or music available via the internet I find comfort in the cultural significance of regional styles. It doesn’t hurt to remember there is more to music right now than pasty dudes nerding out with Ableton in their bedrooms. Anyhow recently I went out on a hunt for Kuduro tracks and thought I’d share some of the kill. Enjoy.
