i have many names

Yall comin to the buff diss dig tonite? should be pimpin. I felt like writing a post, mainly cause i’m meant to be finishing an assignment and want a distraction. I just can’t bring myself to write a boring arse make-up budget. The projects where we need to do a remix are much more fun, my remix is sounding alright too, i’ll post it up here when it’s finished next week some time.
I got too shit hot collabs coming up with some artists emcees atm, so keep an eye out on my myspace for that maybe, i’ll word you up on that when it’s here though.
Also just for a note, keep June 2nd open, as the night i’m gonna be doing with buff diss is gonna open then. It’s much earlier than we expected, so it’s gonna be a rush to get stuff ready, but it’ll be a pimpin night. There’s a drawback that can’t get the O.K. to do live art inside the venue, but there’s still gonna be a street art theme with mad beats, i got some cool djs on board, it’ll be a pimp night.
Also keep open June 29th, as i’m organising a fundraiser for my uni, which is turning out to be a really nice night. We got about 6 vjs and 6 djs involved in it, and it’ll be pimped music. It’s gonna be called Blind Pig, i’ve got the myspace up and running which has some mix tapes and the odd VJ video. The site is still in the making though and we need a flyer, but it’s gearing up to be good.
Both these nights are gonna be at Loop bar in Meyers place in the city.
Ok so on to music. I’ve been posting a bit of hip hop lately it would seem. I stumbled across the Ghost Dog soundtrack lying about in my room the other day. I remember being really into it back in the day, especially one song, which i remembered from the movie, this song. It was made by the RZA who’s done a bit of composing for films in his day. Although much of his stuff is seeming to fall short of the mark lately, there is no doubt this man is super talented. Also he has a cool way of talking. You can still buy the album on amazon, but check the tune:

The next tune is by these two mad guys from the Netherlands, Skitzofrenix. I found out about them through an Electric Zoo post, then decided i’d head over to beatport and buy up all their tracks. So yay the system works. I couldn’t however buy the track below. For some stupid arse reason it said “this release is not available in your territory” which is just rediculous. I tried changing my country to the Netherlands and America, but it still didn’t work. So i scoured the net. Grab this lower quality version i found. I then eventually found some site in a different language that you can buy the track from, with PayPal as well. Hmm i’m trying but i can’t find the link to the site, and i’m getting a bogus web adress through the PayPal receit. Try this link. (EDIT: i found the link, checkit, it’s mega cheap!) Anyway these guys are really good, and have some good fidget lines running through their music which i’m into, the tracks grow on you too. This track is a remix of Erick E btw.
But yeh don’t forget there’s more good tracks cheap at beatport.

This next track is a little bit of pimp from a familar face, Solid Groove. I never knew this was a Switch track, until Deltoid played it on the Sine Language radio show and i was all like, who is this track actually buy, and he was all like it’s a Solid Groove dub, and i was all like you know that’s switch, and he was all like pimpin! i was all like hook me up, so here it is, courtesy of the man. Warrior Queen is also spittin on the track, the original is obviously by Sunship. Man i love her styles, i gotta go on a mission to get as much as i can! You know switch has only been on myspace since like november, and he’s already up to 100,000 track plays, huge!

Just to take you on another style trip, i figured i’d hook you up with a pimpin track i found on palmsoutsounds the other day. It’s by this guy Si Begg who i ain’t heard of before i found him on there. He does some trippy stuff. This track sounds really Dubstepy, yet it’s at a hip hop speed and real glitchy. Si Begg does like glitchy electro stuff, but there’s a definately dubstep grimey kinda influence to his style, i’m diggin the tracks, if they’re dropped write they can be really fitting. Buy some of his stuff at Juno.
