Climate Change
Nah not like the stuff that’s on the news, like the difference between the australia part of the world and the other side. Every year i get pissed off at how way too many good tracks and albums get released over our winter period. As the whether starts heating up in Europe and the US, so do all the tracks, parties and nightlife. And i sit here all miserable about how i’m in the wrong country. Don’t get me wrong, australia is pimpin, and our summer goes off, but in winter i’m left feeling out in the cold, hahahahah. Next year i’m gonna make it over the seas i’m sure, hopefully in time for the summer, missing our winter, giving me like 3 summers in a row. Hopefully i can just manage to continue doing this, yeh that’d be dope.
Anyway enuf of that, it’s time for me to jump on the bandwagon with a couple of tracks burning away at peoples and blogs. There’s a chance you’ve seen these elsewhere already, i don’t care, if you ain’t you need to see them now. Also considering there’s still some more exclusives on the way on this blog, i figure it’s evening out :p
Mr Oizo‘s new release Patrick122. This guy has such a knack for the weirdest form of catchy. From Uffie to the Flat Beat to Jemelia to this little bit of madness and whatever else in between. There’s a lot of talent floating around inside of oizo. When i first was listening to this track i was like yeh this is cool, nice and fun, summery, it’ll go down pretty well. Then the track ventured past the 2 minute 40 realm, and took me to a whole new level of trip. That sex break, i mean sax break, it’s serial fun, and that’s all, kids better lose control i say… or else!!! So grab it why don’t you::
Next is by the ever partylicious crew Trouble & Bass (did you know melbourne’s Acid Jacks have a release of that mad track mookie on their mysapce due out on T&B soon?), with help from some serious counterparts, Cut. There’s no way i’m gonna miss these parties when i get over New York way… I’d never forgive myself. Anyway this track gives you a way in to playing a Put Your Hands Up For Detroit without feeling like a cheese-ball. There’s a fat dirty grimey bassline get down too, and some thump drums for your feet, checkit::
Achk! i just realised both of these have been posted at discobelle. I swear i’m no blog mirror. Ahh well i’m sure the same 2 tracks have been posted at many blogs (put your hands up was exclusive at dirty down), and i’ve already uploaded the files so it’s too late. Also there’s no news on buying these tracks so far. Mr Oizo’s is due out soon thru Ed Banger, and i think the Party Crashers Unite thing is more of a bootleg remix that may only see a white label release some time. Hit me up if you know better.
Oh also discobelle did a post on my scatter vs. mish mix which was good, it gave it like 1000 more downloads in a day which was good (it’s now up to like 3000 downloads), especially since it’s got some of my own productions that people seem to be diggin.
Also have i mentioned the name Curses! before? i dunno if i have. Seriously mad tunes, an alias for Drop The Lime. I was obsessed with his track Hungry 4 Love, and now can’t wait for the real finished and mastered version to be released (there were a few leaks of early unfinshed curses tracks somehow late last year). They’ll all be on Institubes some time this year i expect, dunno exactly when, i’m salivating though. Check his myspace for now, or you can try net searching for the leaks, but they won’t be as good as the real thing.
Check this really good interview (Part.1, Part.2-he says some really good words on music blogs in part.2) with Drop The Lime/Curses! done by The Captain of dirty down, for a bit of insight.
I feel like writing a lot recently. I’m turning uber geek with the winter… at least i’ve been getting assignments and some beat work done though too, and getting events sorted; me and buff diss have a new night in the making that’s gonna be fucken loud in many ways, so lookout! I’ll keep you updated on all that.
